In response to infant deaths, Delta Children gives hundreds of beds to local families

May 31, 2014 — An international children's furniture manufacturer is donating $50,000 worth of cribs and play yards to Brown County families in response to a report on infant deaths from unsafe sleeping.

New York-based Delta Children is giving 270 play yards and 70 cribs with mattresses to the Center for Childhood Safety, which runs a campaign delivering beds for infants to low income families in the Green Bay area...

This year alone, Delta Children will giveaway $1,000,000 worth of cribs to families in need as part of their Safe Sleep campaign . They have traveled the country, donating cribs to many—most of whom have been single teenage moms living in shelters or foster homes. This week, community leaders in Brooklyn, New York will find families in need and teach them about the importance of offering a safe place for babies to sleep.
